The gaming magazine I wrote for (11 years!), which went defunct in 2015, released a special anniversary annual in Dec and my copy finally arrived. It's glorious - thick, full of color, lots of love for gaming and the people that surround the hobby.

I'll never forget our ill-fated idea to include sand in the magazine bag one time - something something Spec Ops: The Line I think, and it ended up scratching the cover DVD for many subscribers. Those were the days.

Magazines may be going the way of the dodo thanks to the internet (it was Facebook that killed our magazine, offering lower cost to advertisers who - in the end - got less for it), but they can still be big, bold and beautiful.
